Benchmarking Report on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

One of our Audit England partners, Emias, has recently produced a report following a national benchmarking survey they undertook with the support of the DH and NHS Internal Audit consortia (including SCA) regarding the use of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) in hospitals. The study came about because actual numbers of DOLS requests appear to be significantly below the levels the Government is expecting, yet there is no definitive information about how many requests each Trust/Hospital Board “should” be making each year. Continue reading....
