What makes our internal audit service different? Our Approach Let us help Value for Money Case Study

We recognise the provision of an excellent internal audit service is dependent on our team of professionals. We take great pride in ensuring all of staff are supported in their professional development, demonstrated by our continued recognition as an Investor in People.

Our philosophy is that internal audit is established by management, so we look to have full involvement of management and Audit Committees in the planning stage, through our audit needs assessment process, but using each organisation's risk management and assurance framework as key tools.
Each audit is tailored to your particular needs and priorities.

Value for Money Audits

We don't just focus on standard audits, we also undertake a wide range of value for money (VFM) audits in areas such as: Pharmacy; Forensic Services; Bank and Agency Staffing; Use of Locum Staff; Patients Transport; Estates Management; Energy Management; Mobile Phones; and Waivers.

We recognise that each individual audit requires an assessment as to which techniques are most appropriate and employ a range of techniques (from compliance and substantive testing, facilitated meetings, through to questionnaires and computer assisted audit techniques) which are flexible for the type of review being undertaken.

Our Risk Based Internal Audit methodology is applied at both strategic and operational planning levels. It is continued throughout the entire audit life-cycle, ultimately being applied at individual audit assignment level. This is consistent with best practice from the Institute of Internal Auditors and allows for standardisation of control processes, as well as the development and sharing of best practice across the consortium.

We can offer you a service that will exceed your expectations whilst offering real value for money. As we are a 'not-for-profit' provider, all our fees are invested into the delivery of the service.

Internal audit should be an integral part of your internal assurance process, we use our experience and knowledge to ensure we can offer you more than just a basic service. We work with you to ensure your needs are fully addressed. We offer, not only excellent service, but are happy to be a point of contact for general advice and support, after all our mission is your success.

Energy Management

The key objectives of this review, which we have undertaken at two clients so far, were to analyse consumption data provided and to benchmark against known performance indicators; to examine the management arrangements in place to ensure effective energy management, and to suggest potential energy savings efficiencies, and assess their payback.

We concluded that, amongst other matters, senior management attention has been drawn to the need to comply with the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme in order to avoid a potential financial penalty of €40,000 and that improved energy housekeeping could achieve savings of at least £80,000 per organisation based upon industry guidelines, for an audit cost of £4,600.
