"The Government will devolve power and responsibility for commissioning services to the healthcare professionals closest to patients: GPs and their practice teams working in consortia." Internal governance arrangements What we can do Our Experience Let us help

"We do not intend to set out detailed or prescriptive requirements in relation to the internal governance of a consortium".

The Department of Health, at this stage, have indicated that they do not intend to provide guidance to GPs on how to set up the new Clinical Commissioning Groups / GP consortia and what the internal governance arrangements should be.

From our experience, we believe that true efficiency in healthcare service provision comes from strong business foundations and exemplar internal governance arrangements.

We can help you right from the start of your new organisation, providing a number of services including:

  • Information Technology & Management
  • Independent facilitation of meetings
  • Best practice policies and procedures
  • Establishing appropriate internal reporting arrangements
  • Independent verification of system effectiveness (from financial management through to clinical service provision)
  • Counter fraud and security management
  • Financial recovery
  • Capital Contacts specialist work
  • Quality standards compliance
  • Review of and recommendations to support attainment of national targets

We also provide an on-line recommendation tracking system where your consortia can easily track and report on audit and third party recommendations arising from many different sites.

We are a long standing NHS Consortium with a wealth of experience working with many large and small healthcare providers.

Over the years, we have supported our clients through many healthcare reorganisations, including an abundance of knowledge gained from the previous GP fund holding arrangements.

Given that we are an NHS Consortium ourselves, we feel well placed to provide you with the best resources, experience and service.

We are already working on customising a range of products specifically designed for Clinical Commissioning Groups.

We can be there with you from the beginning, supporting your development and internal governance arrangements.

We have a range of programmes specifically tailored to support clinical commissioning consortia. For information on these, please see our Value Added Services section, Clinical Commissioning Consortia.

If you would like to discuss how we can help you, please contact us.
